Dusty Donuts Number 20

Bild
2021 and Dusty Donuts are back with Release No.20 and  Weapons of Choice No. 2.  No. 20 brings again two bangers with samples everyone knows. On side A is an edit of „Feeling Good“ by Nina Simone which was recreatet by J Dilla as intro to a Slum Village show. Nice pianobeats with the fabulous voice of Nina Simone. Sorry to say, that this HipHop-Tune first lent my thoughts to the amazing House-Version form 1997 by Huff & Herb, but that is nothing worse, just my emotions. I love this tune and the arrangement of it here. Just play it everywhere and all people will feel good and i hope they will smile like me, About side B there is only one thing to say: Kanye West - Golddigger! This 2005 track with „Ray Charles“ - „I‘ve Got a Woman“ to me is a alltime classic. So no more words needed. IMHO. Weapons of Choice is a Scratch-Tool 45 for all (mobile) Scratch-DJs „portablists“ with their PT01 Scratchs or Spins (just to name the two of the biggest namens in the game). Golden era Hip...

Dusty Donuts Number 19

Bild
T he year 2020 will end with another Dusty Donuts Joint. Dusty Donuts 019 will drop on 12 of December 2020 right before christmas and to get under your christmas tree.   A gain they are bring the mixture of solid Hip-Hop beats and the roots of the samples used to us. This one, No. 19, is by the new production team member DJ Goce.    O n the A-Side there is The Beatnuts "Ya Betta Belive It" with the origin "Family" by Hubert Laws. New member, same style. And that is nothing bad. "Belive in Family": a tune to get into the groove. Start your evening with this soulful candy filled with Discostabs and everything will be allright.   A  perfect mix of the beats with the style of the original brings a cool RnB style flava to this dancefloor gem.   O n the B-Side is my favourite of No. 19. "Who’s Phenomenal" That is because of that i love LL Cool Js "Phenomenon". For me one of his biggest tracks that doesn`t get mentioned so often. I 💚 it. Th...

Dusty Donuts Number 18

Bild
Dusty Donuts Number 18 is on it's way. Continuing releasing mixtures of source and sample here is number 18. On the A-Side there is a rework of the sources used by Ugly Ducklings "Rio De Janeiro". Using the Hook and Vocals by Mário Castro Neves & Samba S.A. "Nanã" and the Vocals by Os Cariocas "Samba Do Avião", this one is a 100 bpm latin banger dancing lightly over the beach of Rio De Janeiro. The B-Side is a rework of "It's so sweet here" by Rachel Sweet as it was used in "We Got The Funk" by the Beatnuts. Puting some extra Drums and Bass unter the original which makes this one a real Hip-Hop-Groover on the dancefloor. The DD018 is a summertime 45 with the A-Side to dance on a summer party at the beach with a  Piña Colada in your hand. Chilling and relaxing. The B-Side is the backyard-BBQ sound grooving with your friends into the sunset on a saturday afternoon.  Listen to those two tracks here:

Dusty Donuts DD016 and DD017 - 5th Label Anniversary

Bild
Dusty Donuts are back. With two Donuts for your 45 pleasure. Once again Dusty Donuts strike with homages to the early days of Hip-Hop. For their 5th label anniversary they are releasing two "Donuts" to celebrate the label. After listening to both on hearthis, i must say, that i love them all but i have one that i like a bit more.  The use of original songs that created Hip-Hop classics is a speciality of the Dusty Donut guys and they know how to teach you well: DD016: The native tongue 45. On the A side there ist the remix of "Just A touch Of Love" by Slade that was used for De La Souls "Keeping the Faith". Also used in this remix are the other Samples like "Could It Be Love" by Bob Marley that where used in the De La Soul song. The Use of the Bob Marley sample adds a little bit of highlight to this tune. Love the use of the sample. The B Side comes around with the samples of "Bonita Applebum" by A Tribe Called Quest. The trac...

Bild
The new Dusty Donuts 45 is on it's way. Coming in mid-December 2018 with two homage tracks to New York. Again we have two tracks that are originals to two boom bap Hip-Hop Tracks. On the A-side we have "Our Dreamworld". Known from DJ Premiers "Our Street" ft. A$AP Ferg and as original tune from "The Continental 4 - (You're living in a) Dream World". The Naughty NMX Harlem Mix is the perfect mixture of both tracks. The soulful Original tuned up with some DJ Premier like drums. On the B-side there is "Let Me Go A Million Times". Also from a DJ Premier beat. This time a remix for Jay-Z. "A Million and one Questions" is the name of the track. Aha, he did it again! Naughty NMX took the original of the DJ Premier sample and pimped it with some new beats. Latimore is the band and "Let Me Go" is the song. The two sides are a trip through NY. From Harlem to Brooklyn with two reworked originals, used in songs produced ...

Bild
Mocambo Records is a Hamburg, Germany, based funk label. They bring you funk. Funky with additional flavors like Hip Hop. Most of the releases come with a B-Boy touch so they will move the feet of the listener. They als have the "Mighty Mocambos" as their "house band". They describe them as "The unknown stuntmen of funk". Their latest release is a "Mighty Mocambos"-Remix of ICE-T & Charlie Funks "Bounce That Ass". You may ask your self who are those two. ICE-T you all should know from the TV-Series "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (only if you didn't know him as a musician, e.g. he founded Body Count). Charlie Funk is better known as Africa Islam who founded together with Africa Bambaataa the "Zulu Nation" and was a member of the "Rock Steady Crew". New stuff from Tramp Records 45s

Bild
News News News.. Tramp Records 45s released some new stuff. Today there was coming in the new "Number Nine Records" with German Hip Hop by "Teecain" (aka MC Teekanne) from Munich. "Rentners Rap" is about being retired as a Rapper and watching the actual business on a nice funky guitar beats. "Brudermuehl No. 1" is a more chilly Track. Also cuts on "Brudermuehl No.1" are from Munich using David Pes vocals from the track "München halt" from Main Concept ft. Blumentopf (the best known Munich Hip Hop crews). Bild
Picture "stolen" from hhv.de for style reasons One of the big German online vinyl stores comes along with some Boombap Hip Hop 45s. As the attention to 45s is growing and the No.1 Genre seems to be changed from Soul to Hip Hop, "hhv" is bringing you some BoomBap Classics. Those classics are released as limited edition 300 pieces. First one was: "Da Bush Babees - Brooklyn Movement", followed by "Juggaknots - Clear Blue Skyes/Rob Swift - I'm leaving" and as third end of July there was "Das EFX - Real Hip Hop". As i wrote in my post about  Easy Now Records , you can always get me with some "Das EFX". So they got me now. It's added Hip Hop beats give this song a groovy foundation for your summer parties. Dusty Donuts keep their path with the mixture of a soulish, hiphopish flavor like they did with DD012 and D013. Diggin' 45s on a flea market in Ochsenfurt May 13th 2018

Bild
Here are some 45s i dug on a flea market in Ochsenfurt, Germany. I found at last three people selling 45s. When i was almost thru the whole area i saw a man closing his stall and wanting to leave. He was just putting a blanket over some 45s i spied and i asked to look thru them. There where about 600 45s and i only picked the ones i really needed, because he seemed to be in a hurry, but i was really satisfied with what i had.  Mainly i picked the 45s in ability to play them on parties. Oldschool parties or the 80s & 90s thing that is very popular at the moment.  Here are the Pics: Rockwell - Somebody's Watching Me Indeep - Last Night A D.J. Saved My Life The Rock Steady Crew - Hey You The Rock Steady Crew L.L. Cool J - I Need Love Man Parish - Hip Hop Be Bop (Don't Stop) My favorite from this dig! Super-Wolf - Super-Wolf Can Do It Depeche Mode - People Are People Donna Summer - Bad Girls Diana Ross - Upside Down Diana...
