About Me!

Me DJing at a company event
I'm Clemens  Esperanza.
First the main thing: after a long time buying only digital music and some limited vinyls i realized in 2017 that i really enjoy sitting down and listen to vinyl  while reading. The first vinyls where a release by german acid techno act "Hardfloor", later followed by some Dusty Donuts 7", a release from  Skeewif on 7" and a Mukatsuku 7". As i enjoyed the 7" vinyl format, i begann diggin'. Soon i found out about artists selling directly on bandcamp and other stores in the internet. As i saved the links in my browser tab, i decided to make them public and started this blog.

My musical history:
My passion for vinyl began, when i startet to DJ about 1992.
My musical roots are different genres. It started with Heavy Metal, came to Hip Hop and later to Techno. About 1992 my walkman was filled with tapes from Megadeth, Public Enemy, Techno, Anthrax, Metallica, Techno House, Run D.M.C., Dance Music like Snap, Dr Alban, N.W.A......
As i wanted to make music as a DJ in a band, i talked to friends about forming a Hip Hop Band but some wanted to do some kind of imitated, american gangsta rap and the others where about to form a complete band and that wasn´t real enough for me. About that time i met a guy i was knowing from a after school group and he had about the same plans. So we started DJ in in a basement of a city hall. We played all kind of stuff from the new coming up hard Techno to Eurodance to Hip Hop. Soon all the money i had was spend for turntables and records.
About 1996 i started playing in a club called "Airport" in Würzburg Germany. As i loved to dance to electro, breaks and similar stuff, this was the music i could play there on Wednesdays in a small area of the club. As there where played almost all styles of danceable music i used my chance to spin some records in every area. From Hip Hop to House, from Electro to Techno, from Disco to Rock. As there was a free slot in a bigger area on Saturdays i moved there where i played a mixture of Hip Hop/RnB and House. At that time i moved from playing only vinyl to play a mix of CDs and Vinyl to Final Scratch to only CDs to playing all digital. Since the Airport i played other clubs in Würzburg as the Studio and the Zauberberg which is my home club at the moment.
Me and Jimmy Klok (Kickass DJ-Team)
As i love all kind of genres, i got into mashup about 2010. A DJ-friend (Jimmy Klok) and i created the Kickass DJ Team where we played mashups wearing yellow "smiley" skimasks. We where noticed by the "Bootie Berlin" Crew, who were part of the worldwide Bootie Mashup Parties and got the chance to play at their parties in Berlin and finally got a resident slot till the party was finally canceled because of personal difficulties. By diggin' for music in the internet i found newfunk remixes of funk and rock classics that i used in my sets. Through that i first recognized some labels and DJs celebrating the 7" vinyl. That was about 2012/2013. I played only digital at that time, i didn't play vinyl. Vinyl i only played at some oldschool-parties. 2017 as i was bored by the actual music (what actually started about 2015 or so), i looked what could get me back into music. As i also love electronic music the "25 Gyeahrs" picture-disc 10" by Hardfloor made me buy vinyl as DJ music and collectibles again. Listening to a lot of Funk and Hip Hop in my spare time, my facebook filter bubble made me buy my first 7". From the moment i first had my hand on a 7" i wanted more, more, more and searched the internet for more 7" stuff to satisfy my new vinyl addiction.
At the moment i have the goal to play a 7" set on the oldschool-, 80s-, 90s-, etc. parties. Maybe fitted with some tracks that i researched in the internet.
Here a video from our oldschool-party called "Oldschool, Baby!":
